1-105. In order to ensure the coordination of international trade policy with a view to the implementation of the Agreement, the Agencies shall consult the Trade Representative in advance on negotiations with foreign governments or on government procurement instruments. A former section 301 of Pub. L. 93-618, Title III, 3 January 1975, 88 Stat. 2041, which referred to the President`s reactions to import restrictions and foreign export subsidies and was classified in this section, was published in the general revision of Chapter 1 of Title III of Pub. L. 93-618 per pub. L. 96-39. Title IX, ยง 901, 26 July 1979, 93 Stat. 295. 1988 – Pub.

L. 100-418 amended the General Section and replaced the provisions relating to the actions of the United States Trade Representative with provisions and measures of the President. Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, as amended, authorizes the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) to take specific action, subject to the President`s instructions, and to take all “appropriate and feasible measures,” under the president`s authority, that the president has directed the USTR to enforce U.S. rights under trade agreements such as NAFTA. Upon the entry into force of NAFTA, an interested person may file a petition with the USTR requesting Section 301 measures in all cases where the person believes that another NAFTA government has failed to comply with a provision of the Agreement or has resulted in the nullification or impairment of benefits that the United States could reasonably have expected under the Agreement. Alternatively, the USTR may initiate proceedings on its own initiative under Section 301.30 by the power vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of the United States of America, including Title III of the Trade Agreements Act of 1979 (19 U.S.C. 2511-2518), and Section 301 of Title 3 of the United States Code, as well as the implementation of the Agreement on Government Procurement within the meaning of 19 U.S.C 2518(1), is ordered as follows: By the power conferred on me by the Constitution and laws of the United States of America, including Sections 141 and 1 of Title III of the Trade Act of 1974, as President, as amended (19 U.S.C 2171, 2411-2420), Section 307 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C 242l) and Section 104 of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 as amended (22 U.S.C.
